Lice infestation is common among women and school children. Any slackness in cleanliness breeds lice. It's a parasitic grey insect with six feet. It turns brownish after sucking the blood which it does with two small trunk-like whiskers. Long hair are more prone to lice infestation.
Avoid using towels, soap or comb of a person having lice. The adult louse runs from one scalp to another sticking eggs on the hair. The nit can be slid along the hair but not pulled off.
The lice can be killed with a single application of 1% gammabenzine hexachloride or 2% DDT emulsion or 25% benzyl benzoate emulsion. The scalp should be washed after 24 hours and the nits should be carefully removed with a comb as the ova are unaffected by these agents. The treatment may have to be repeated after every ten days.
Body lice (pediculosis corporis) reside in the seams of clothing and not on the skin's surface. The clothes should be thoroughly powdered with 10% DDT powder or should be boiled for 10 to 15 minutes. The itchy skin lesions respond to soothing agents like calamine lotion which should be applied after a hot bath.
Solution for Lice Infection
• An anti-lice oil can be mixed with coconut or mustard oil and 0.2% lindane (BHC) or 0.1% prethrum essence. This oil can be rubbed well into the scalp to kill lice. The ingredients can be purchased from a chemical dealer.
• Mix talcum powder with 0.2% prethrum dust (or add 10% DDT). Sprinkle 1 powder on the hair before going to bed. Rub it vigorously to that it reaches, roots. Cover your eyes, nose and mouth to protect them from the powder .
• Anti-louse lotion, either gamma benzene hexachloride or cream (Lorex Gammexane) or malathion (Prioderma) kills the eggs, which can be removed with a fine-toothed comb. Let it remain for 24 hours.

Beautiful Hair Style - How to get beautiful Hair?
Beautiful hair acts a vital role in making you look shiny, healthy and well-groomed. This doesn't always come naturally, so it may require a change in your beauty routine. You can give your hair a great shine and help remove soap build up:
Blondes - Add a couple of tablespoons of lemon juice to your rinse water.
For conditioning hair, henna is the best. A henna paste mixed with curd, an egg and lemon juice is an excellent conditioner if left on the hair for about 45 minutes. If you have dry hair, add 1-2 teaspoons of olive oil or coconut oil to the henna paste.
Brunettes and Redheads - Add a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to your rinse water.
Stir 1 teaspoon of honey into 4 cups (1 quart) warm water. After shampooing, pour the mixture through you hair. Do not rinse out. Dry as normal.
Permanent Hair Removal
Permanet Hair Removal is one of the most difficult problems to solve, and getting rid of it will often be essential for passing. Anyone who is planning to go full time and is even remotely considering the option of stealth is strongly advised to seek permanent facial hair removal as soon as possible in transition.
Types of permanent hair removal methods
Electrolysis - Electrolysis or electrology is permanent hair removal by the process of inserting a fine, solid, pre-sterilized needle (wire, or probe) into a hair follicle and applying a small amount of electrical current to permanently destroy the hair growth cells.
Electrolysis is an alternative to laser hair removal. Sometimes this is a good choice for candidates that have very light skin and gray hair.
The electrolysis procedure employs a needle that directs electric or radio wave energy to the hair follicle one follicle at a time. The energy destroys the follicle and the hair does not grow back. There may be slight pain associated with this procedure. If after your consultation you find that you are not a candidate for laser hair removal electrolysis may be an alternative.
Apilus Electrolysis - Computerized electrolysis offers hair removal treatment gently and effectively using the Apilus unit by delivering treatment in thousands of milliseconds to create a faster permanent treatment.
Laser - This is removes hair by causing thermal and/or mechanical damage to a hair follicle while sparing surrounding tissues. The popularity of laser hair removal has increasingly grown, prompting many laser manufacturers to conduct research and seek FDA clearance for their lasers for this indication. Lasers cleared for body hair removal are also cleared for facial hair removal.
Light-skinned consumers with dark hair have the best results. Response rates have not been established. Re growth rates have not been accurately established and cannot be predicted due to numerous variables. Generally not as effective on unpigmented (gray) hairs and red or blonde hair.
If you have a darker skin tone, or you tan, lasers must be used very cautiously.
Improper treatment can cause burns, lesions, skin discoloration lasting several months, or patchy/patterned re growth. Can be expensive. Some find treatment painful.
Flashlamp - This is intended to cause thermal and/or mechanical damage to a hair follicle while sparing surrounding tissues.
Thermolysis: This is a relatively new method of removing hair. The process of hair removal is the same as electrolysis. The hair is destroyed by coagulating the papilla (the source of nourishment for hair through the use of heat.
Hip hop hair style - How to make Hip hop hair style?
A long layered cut is ideal for wild, tightly twisted curls. To style, apply a thickening gel on towel-dried hair, twist and pincurl very small sections. Pin in place and let it dry by itself or under a hood dryer. Remove pincurls and take fingers through hair, turning your head upside down to boost fullness. Finish with hair serum for moisture and gloss.
Cornrows hair style are one of the strongest trends in hip hop. The Cornrows hair style has been around for years and has always gone hand in hand with the freshest styles. You have undoubtedly seen the Cornrows hair style on some of hip hop's biggest superstars.
If you are doing competition dancing, hair style is even more important. Depending on the dance, you'll want a style that matches the spirit of what you're doing. Remember too that you want the judges to watch your dancing, not your hair.
Punk Hair Style - Pictures of punk hairstyles for girls and Guys
One of the major outer signs that say a person is "punk" is the punk hair style, the only hair style that has lasted over twenty years...
The punk hairstyles has basically stayed the same, with a few changes here and there to fit the times (70's punk, 80's punk, 90's punk and so on). In the 70's, when punk really began to take off, if your hair style was spiked or colored, you were a punk. When the 80's approached, rebellion became something like it never was before, and with the birth of MTV, it was easier to spread the rebel punk hair virus.
Over the past few seasons, punk fashion has transcended from campy to cool. One example of this is the media interest in Kelly Osbourne's eccentric style. The same people who once mocked her for her fashion sense are now clinging onto her bootstraps for advice about how to avoid a fashion faux pas.
Steps for Punk Hairstyle
Put the hair in three ponytails, starting at the middle of the crown and going to the middle of the back.
Wrap one Feather wrap piece around each one of the ponytails. Use the wrap like you would a ponytail holder, twisting it around the ponytail until it is secure. On the second wrap bring your ponytail through halfway so that you own ends blend with the Feather wrap piece. Secure with bobby pins if necessary.
Style the hair forward and spray to create more volume.
Punk Hair Cut and Punk hairstyles
Punk hairstyles are bizarre and colorful. A Mohawk hairstyle is popular with those seeking a punk hairstyle. This type of punk hairstyle is characterized by a shaved scalp with an upright strip of hair running across the crown of the head from the forehead to the nape of the neck. Punk hairstyles are usually sported by members of rebellious counter culture groups. A punk hairstyle - gelled and spiky is often accompanied by leather clothes and various body piercing.
For the Punk Rock Hair Look
For a glam-punk look use a smoothing iron to get root lift staright upwards in small sections. When hair is cooled separate sections with a polishing wax pulling strands down to create a random fringe.
When dressing punk rock style, forget about anything frou-frou, frilly or feminine. Paris Hilton is not your inspiration here girls! Think more along the lines of graphic muscle tees emblazoned with dissident messages such as Rock the System and jeans spray painted with your own personal graffiti.
Another point to remember when dressing like a punk rocker is that you should not ignore colour. Although black is the theme colour, it creates a far more dramatic effect when combined with neon pink, dark turquoise, bright red or royal blue.
Punk rock is all about making your own mark against the restrictions of the establishment - so whatever you choose to wear nzgirls, wear it with individuality and rock on!
Punk Hair Care and Styling Tips
These tips are for longevity in styles, but be warned that it doesn't come out for about a week.
(1) You can use hairspray - White Rain and Freeze Frame hairsprays are both great.
(2) For the little freaks out there, gel is your starting point. Good kind of gel is a big tub of something called La Bella. It costs about $4.50 - beware of cheaper rip offs!! Use the blue and green ones - they are the only ones that don't smell really bad.
(3) Egg whites: these really stink, so don't keep it in without hairspray. Slowly make a hole in the egg with a knife or whatever, and let the clear translucent goop creep out; when you start seeing bright yellow - stop!
(4) Knox Gelatin: this stuff works perfect for about a week, but it stinks like crazy! It is pure protein so it will attract flies if you get it wet. Mix in a bowl that you don't use for anything else. Mix with water, and nuke it for 45-50 seconds. You can find this stuff at the store for like 3 bucks it is the best.
(5) And finally, Elmers glue. This stuff works for people with fine hair or those with curly hair. Pour some onto your hand, grab a hunk of hair, pull and twist upwards. Do not just do 1 or 2 spikes, do six or seven. These are the A1 pimpin liberty spikes!!
Frizzy Hair Home remedy and Frizzy Hair shampoo tip
Frizzy hair is often lackluster because it doesn't reflect the light the way straight hair does. You can get the shine back by controlling the frizz, but it's not always that easy.
If your hair is permed, bleached or colored, it might look frizzy from chemical damage. You probably need a deep conditioning treatment (but do not use an oil-based one) with some heat. You can try a gel or pomade. Use conservatively because chemical damage causes hair to "grab" products.
Frizzy Hair Tips and home remedy
If you have naturally curly, frizzy hair, or coarse thick permed hair that is out of control, this is what our Beauty experts do to control it:
Always rinse with the coldest water you can stand after using a shampoo and conditioner for straight hair. The cold water "locks down" the hair cuticle and makes hair appear slicker, less frizzy.
If you have curly hair and dont want it to frizz, but still want it to be shiney and not frizzy, apply some aloe vera through hair.
Traditions have taught many of us that lavishly applying oil to our hair will give us the soft, shiny hair that we all desire. However more often than not, the opposite takes place. Most oils if they are not essential oils do not have the ability to penetrate into the hair shaft. Nor do heavy cholesterols. What they will do, is to lay on top of the cuticle, and coat the cuticle. This may give the hair some Brilliance. However, it will also coat the hair. And causes product build up.
Get your hair trimmed every 6 to 8 weeks. This will stop split ends from splitting up the hair shaft and causing hair to frizz out.
Avoid washing and blow-drying your hair every day, as this strips your locks of its natural oils.
Hair Color - Permanent and Semi-permamnet tint
Many times someone may want to change hair colors, but does not know how it will look. Here is a very good tip to finding out what will look good on you. Go to a wig shop and try on wigs of the color you think you might like to try. These stores have wigs for trying on that are sterilized so they are not unhealthy to try and this can give you a good idea of how you will look.
Even on white hair, a very attractive effect is created by tinting the hair a very light blonde. This gives the effect of blonde hair, but does not look harsh or unnatural.
Can I apply color to wet hair?
We don't recommend it when trying to achieve lift, because the water dilutes your bleach, high/lift or tint. When depositing it can dilute the color, and the results can be not enough coverage because the chemical in the color becomes diluted.
Before you color your hair...
Well, the week before you color you hair, make sure to really condition the ends so that they don't absorb too much color during the process.
Types of hair color dyes
Permanent Tints - If a permanent tint is used correctly, you will always achieve a beautiful effect and semi-permanent tints can be used to maintain these permanent treatments, adding condition. The permanent color will penetrate the inner core of the hair strand and will not wash away as with a semi-permanent color that will wash out after a number of shampoos.
Semi-Permanent Colors - Semi-permanent color give your hair a higher shine and enhance condition, but they won't lift natural hair color. Also, a semi-permanent tint will not cover large amount of grey hair (more than 50%).
Hair color mistakes
The worst thing you can do if you color your own hair is to apply the permanent color throughout your hair every time you color.
Some coloring tips for that extra difference
Streaking is a good option for a brand new look. Done with a change of base color, it looks even better.
Cool colors for women: Coppers, bright reds, mahogany brown and golden blondes.
Cool colors for men: Ash blonde, chestnut brown and honey brown.
Subtle contrasts or dark highlights also work. Add curl to the hair in place of making buns.
Split Ends - split hair end cause and cure
Split ends occur when the cuticle is damaged and the fibres of the cortex unravel. The hair is dry, brittle andprone to tangling and can split at the end or anyway along the shaft.
Over-perming or colouring, insufficient conditioning, or too much brushing or back combing, especially with poor quality combs or brushes. Careless use of spiky rollers and hair pins, excessive heat styling and not having the hair trimmed regurlarly can also cause the problem.
Split ends can not be mended, the only long term cure is to have them snipped off. When is lost in the length will be gained in quality. It may help if you reduce the frequency with which you shampoo, as this in itself is stressful to hair and cause split ends to extend up the hair shaft. Never use a dryer too near the hair, or set it on too high a temperature. Minimize the use of heated applicances. try conditioners and serums that are designed to temporarily seal split ends and give resistance to further splitting.
Best ways to make you free from split ends
Yup, they can make you look impoverished. So gals, make sure you trim those ends before more notice it. Once in two to four weeks is fair enough to keep those splits away. But before you head for the salon, here's something you should know.
Do not comb in the wet hair.
Use a good herbal shampoo and avoid frequent changing of shampoo.
Make sure you drink a lot of water as water contains minerals.
Apply henna at least once a week.
Oil your hair with a combination of almond oil and castor oil mixed and warm together. After this, use turban therapy on the scalp, that will help penetrate the oil well into the roots.
Do not expose your hair to extreme heat or temperature.
Manage to trim off your split ends.
Do not back comb.

Black Hair Care Tips - How to keep Black Hair Beautiful?
Many people in the world has the black hairs which are more brittle and more prone to breakage. Black hair needs special care because they are fragile and difficult to control. Black hair are always almost curly, although the degree of wave varies enormously. As a general rule, black hair is brittle and has a tendency to split and break. This is because the sebaceous glands produce insufficient sebum to moisturize the hair. They need special attention and special tips to make them last longer.
In addition, because the hair is tightly curled, the sebum is unable to travel downwards to condition it naturally. If the curl forms kinks, this makes the hair thinner and therefore weaker at each band.
Other type of black hair can be very fine making it difficult to style and hold a set.
To treat excessive dryness choose a specialist formulation that replace the natural oil lacking in black hair. If the product is massaged daily or whenever necessary, the hair will become more manageable with improved condition and shine. It is also important to deep condition the hair regularly.
Tips on black hair caring
Hair need to be strong and healthy to take any type of chemical treatment. To check hair strength and natural elasticity, pluck out a hair and hold it firmly between both hands, then pull gently. If the hair breaks with hardly any stretching, it is in week and poor condition, in which all chemical treatments should be avoided.
One of the most effective ways of styling very curly hair is to crop it close and short. With this type of cut you just need to shampoo, condition and finish it with soft wax.
Massage the scalp regularly to encourage oil production.
If you use hot combs or curling tongs, make sure you shield the hair by using a protective product.
If the hair is pulled too forcibly too often, it will disrupt the hair folicles, cause scar tissue to form and ultimately hair loss. To help prevent this, avoid braiding or pulling the hair into tight braids.
To prevent frizziness and maintain the definition of curls, special lotions called curl actibators and moisturising sprays can be used to revive and preserve the formation of curls.
Black hair should be colored with caution because of its natural dryness and porosity.
Once a month, try a hot oil treatment which will lubricate dry scalp condition as well as moisturise brittle hair.
As with all chemical treatments, relaxing and pumming can be potentially harmful to the hair, removing natural moisture and leaving hair in a weakend state. For this reason it is advisable to get skilled professional help and advice.
Type of Hair Perms - Find different Types of Hair Perms
Perms take straight hair and make it curly. The risks are similar to those associated with relaxers. These days perms can be fine-tuned to give you exactly the kind of wave you want.
You can get perms that just add body to fine, limp hair, you can get loose, sexy waves or you can go for the corkscrew curls that many straight-haired girls covet (and some curly-all-their-lives girls are sick of).
How long does a perm last?
Generally about 3 to 5 months. After 3 months re-perm your roots so they match the rest of your hair.
Can I wrap in perm solution?
It is best to wrap with water or Enhancer and apply the perm solution afterwards. To ensure healthy even curl, we suggest choosing the right perm for the type of hair and following manufacturer's directions.
Perming different types of hair
Fine Caucasoid hair is probably the 'worst' hair to try to perm. It has the smallest diameter, and needs the minimum amount of perming solution and processing time. The photograph above shows you what the results of over-perming can be!
Post Perm Care
After your perm, shampoo with ammonium-based shampoos.

Chemical Peel - Facial, home, face, picture - Chemical peel for acne and scar
Chemical peeling is a technique used to improve the appearance of the skin which is typically performed on the face, neck or hands. In this treatment, a chemical solution is applied to the skin that causes it to "blister" and eventually peel off. The new, regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin.
Chemical exfoliants are ingredients such as enzymes or alpha-hydroxy acids that you can apply to your body, to loosen and remove dead and old skin cells, debris, excess sebum. The exfoliation takes no physical work on one's part - no rubbing, and no rinsing.
What is Chemical Peel?
Chemical peel uses a chemical solution to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin by removing its damaged outer layers. It is helpful for those individuals with facial blemishes, wrinkles and uneven skin pigmentation. Phenol, trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and alphahydroxy acids (AHAs) are used for this purpose. Although chemical peel may be performed in conjunction with a facelift, it is not a substitute for such surgery, nor will it prevent or slow the aging process.
Points to remember for Chemical Peel
All chemical peels carry some uncertainty and risk Chemical peel is normally a safe procedure when it is performed by a qualified, experienced plastic surgeon.
Depending upon the type of peel, a reaction similar to a sunburn occurs following a chemical peel. Superficial peeling usually involves redness, followed by scaling that ends within three to seven days. Medium-depth and deep peeling may result in swelling and the presence of water blisters that may break, crust, turn brown, and peel off over a period of seven to 14 days.
Different formulas of Chemical Peel
Alphahydroxy acids (AHAs)
Glycolic acids
Trichloroacetic acid (TCA)
Phenol
Care after applying Chemical Peel
Keep treated areas cool (use a water spray).
Do not pick! Picking delays healing and causes scarring
Moisturise - use light preparations after a superficial peel, thicker moisturisers after a deeper peel
Protect from the sun - especially for the first 6 months
If advised to do so, continue to use tretinoin, glycolic acid and/or hydroquinone at night long term
